A few years back I was a keen pc gamer with a few online friends of mine from around the world, we had a clan situated on Halo and we had some good times playing a game we loved. Naturally we got good at the game and had some great times, but sadly problems arose and everyone went there separate ways. Shortly after I purchased a PSP on release and gave up on the PC gaming for the rest of the year.
Onto the PSP
In August 2005, FTB was released in the USA, having owned all previous games in the SOCOM series the game obviously caught my eye. In the winter months between 2005/2006 I managed to pick up a copy of the game, without the mic, at my local Gamestation. After a few weeks on the game I created the EvO~Lution clan which went pretty well despite time differences. We won the odd clan war hee and there. When the 21st of April came around, I took my copy of the American game back to where I bought it and swapped the game for the European version plus the headset, and that day was the birth of EvO on the EU version of the game.
EvO went on to unrivalled success on the game, gaining a very good clan war track record of 44 wars played, 41 clan wars won and only 3 clan wars Lost. EvO stopped playing FTB mid-January 2007 after 7 months as one of the best clans, if not the best, on the game.
After FTB there was a quiet time for the clan which involved playing on the American version of FTB2 until the release of the long-awaited PS3. FTB2 wasn't the same game as the original, it just didn't have the charm that original had. Looking back now, FTB was a shockingly bad game but it was our game that brought the clan together.
Long Live the PS3
Just over a month after quitting FTB, EvO moved onto the PS3 taking a few of the legends from FTB with us.
Starting on Resistance: Fall Of Man we met and recruited a lot of friends but it wasn't until Call Of Duty 4 that we started playing competitively on Gamebattles.com finishing first in our first season. We did go onto play a second season, however some of the other clans played a ridiculous amount of clan wars every night and we only managed to finish 6th with just a small fraction of games played compared to those players above us. Since the days of clan wars we've been hopping from game to game, each time returning back to COD4 since no other game has come close to the amount of fun we had on there. Currently we are between COD4 and Battlefield: Bad Company while we eagerly await SOCOM:Confrontation.
